Surprise Surprise! We’ve jetted off again!
Left Brisbane on Friday to head here to Thailand – north of Phuket at Khao Lak to be exact – the area which was wiped out by the Tsunami in 2004. We had been here 3 months after the tsunami and the place then was barren and very bare with remnants of anything and everything lying around but today, 6 years on it is a thriving, hot and humid tourist spot again and has grown up bigger and better than before.
Kemm had sprung this little trip on me and I only found out 5 days before we left where we were going. He had been communicating with a very dear friend of ours Simone, who lives in Phuket and as I write this, Simone has only just left after staying here overnight last night at the resort with us and spending the full day with us. It just a lovely relaxing time catching up again, 3 years since she was in Brisbane and SO nice to see her again. For Caville – Simone is fabulous – just the same, a laugh a minute and yak, yak, yak!! She was thrilled to get your ‘Monet’ card had had a great laugh that you had remembered her artistic preferences!
Anyway between myself, Kemm and Simone we have spent the last 2 days blobbing in and out of the Andaman Sea – it’s so wonderfully warm!!!, and then a dip back in our own little private pool with it’s spa bubbles etc.
This resort – Emerald Beach Resort is huge!! Mostly the big block buildings but a group of beach front villas – one of which we have, and only 2 of those with private pools – one of which we have!!!
Kemm has been very devious planning this trip but he’s done very well and kept me in the lifestyle I have become accustomed to!!!
But anyway – the weather is hot and steamy, each afternoon there has been a sudden downpour and thunderstorm but it’s just so relaxing otherwise. My swimmers will need to be replaced through overuse by the time we get back! We love the little Thai restaurants of course just outside the hotel grounds each of which is as cheap as can be and the food is always so good!
Had fun getting away from Brisbane – we left home without Scott or Jason knowing we were going away – saves them planning anything!! I did send a text message though when we arrived and they have had a great laugh at our whizzing off without them! Just hope the place is clean and tidy when we get back VERY early Thursday morning boys!!!! (Better have it done by Wednesday night I guess??).
Anyway – it’s the old story here – wireless access only in the hotel lobby so not a huge amount of time spent online – besides there’s blobbing in the sea or the pool to do!
