Heading to Athens

2010, Greece

This morning we were all due to pack up and disembark the ship and head to our next holiday destination. Lots of goodbyes were had and a few friends made with whom to make contact with once everyone is home again. Kemm and I were headed out to the Airport for our onward flight to Athens, Greece.

Arriving in Athens we were met by our pre-arranged pickup, and transferred to our hotel in the middle of older Athens area. The location was brilliant, close to the Acropolis, around the corner from a local bar/restaurant area and a hop skip and jump away from the touristy shopping area.

The hotel was only 3 star and not exactly what we had been used to on board the boat but it was a bed and a bathroom (sort of!). Have to admit though, the roof-top bar area was probably the one spot in Athens with the best nighttime view of the Acropolis and Parthenon. It’s website prides itself on that fact and it was interesting chatting to a few others there that they also had found the hotel via the net.

Meandered through a nearby street to a local restaurant for dinner and back for the evening ready for pickup the next morning.
