Had a brilliant sleep last night after both being a little jet-lagged – I think he has slept for about 14 hours in a couple of bursts but we’re on the road and our body clocks are now on US time. We are however back for a cat–nap this afternoon – feeling a bit jaded!
Stated out this morning after breakfast and headed by cable car down to Fisherman’s wharf where we have spent most of the day. So much to see and do there – restaurants, shops, touts, a whole seal colony, boats coming and going into the mist and heading out with tourists to Alcatraz. Didn’t venture that way ourselves but some of our photos show what we’ve been up to. Had lunch st Fisherman’s wharf and I did the recommended bowl of chowder and whole steamed crab bit for my lunch – has to be one of the biggest and best crabs I’ve had – and a whole $29! Cheap!
The seal colony now encumbant at Fishermans Wharf arrived there after the 1989 earthquake – no-one knows why apparently but they have certainly made themselves at home there.
On the way out this morning, we got off the cable car at ‘Lombard St’, the steepest and most crooked street in the country. During weekends, cars queue for over an hour just to drive down the street however today being Monday, things were not quite as busy – stupid skateboarders were having a ball!
Check out the photos anyway. Now on ‘down time’ – Kemm’s snoring already!
