Brenda and Kemm's travels

Day 1 Golf – The National

2012, Mornington Peninsula

The Mornington Peninsula was at it’s best – cold and windy and even more so for our day out on what I believed was a fabulous course. Very open and blustery but big wide fairways and of course the perfectly placed bunkers. I think I cam home with the same ball though so obviously didn’t do too badly. 24 pts was my limit for the day – I think Kemm got 20.

Had the provided lunch inside their magnificent clubhouse but crappy bbq sausages, steak and a bit of salad – nothing to write home about.

We heard from others later that there wasn’t even enough food for those who came in at the end of the field – not exactly a warm welcome to The National!

Managed to actually meet up with a couple we had played with last year – a really good fun couple to play with if we remembered correctly!

Headed back home (our cosy cottage) and ordered pizza for a night in, in front of the pot belly fire.
