Brenda and Kemm's travels

Day 2 – Paris

2014, France

The day began with us having passed through 16 hours in bed – the body has needed some catching up and a 4pm ‘lie-down’ late yesterday afternoon turned into an all night event with both of us waking around 4am for a couple of hours then another 2 or 3 hours of sleep!

Ventured out about 10am for a wander and some breakfast – yes please – that breakfast (couldn’t read a word so just used the suggestion provided!). Croissant, baguette, orange juice and expresso coffee. All good.

Have spent a couple of hours this morning strolling up our road “Rue de Rivoli” a fabulous street full of cheese shops, delicatessans, patisseries, french boulangeries (bakeries) and eventually came upon a huge open aor market full of all the same stuff at half the price of the shops!! Guess where I’d bought my fruit from – yup! the shops!

Tested out our bank debit cards in the eftpos machines and both managed to pull money out so looks like we’re okay for that.

WiFi is free in the hotel and unlimited so that’s a huge plus. I’m expecting that most of our accommodation places will have free wifi, unlike Australia where user pays for every little download!!!

It’s been cold, wet and rainy here so we ventured out for a late lunch at one of the umpteen cafes and restaurants around us and settled into a bottle of red, Kemm had a salad and I had some scallops provencale and we spent an hour or so ‘people watching’ – love it!

Had another 5pm nap after that – woke at 3am again!!! Grrrr…. So a read of a book for an hour or so then woke back up at 6.30am so hopefully THIS time I’m in sync!
